Laurel graduated in 1991 from the Sutherland-Chan School of Massage after completing a Radiographer Diploma from Toronto Institute of Medical Technology (currently known as the Michener Institute). Laurel has served as a Provincial Registration Examiner for the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and studied Human Anatomy Dissection part-time at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Postgraduate courses studied over the past 29 years include Swedish Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Strain Counter Strain, Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy, Visceral Mobilization, Craniosacral Therapy, Therapeutic Ultrasound, Nerve Mobilization/assessment, Spiraldynamik, and Indian Head Massage.
Laurel’s interests are rehabilitative assessment and treatment of soft tissue injuries, implementing a variety of hands-on Manual Therapies to complement her Therapeutic Massage Therapy practice. Laurel still continues with postgraduate studies to further develop her clinical skills and treatment approach.
